Hello Dudes and Dudettes, no I haven't forgotten you, I know it's been a while. On previous post I have written about the 10 (for me) essentials things every man (and every woman must-make to have in his partner wardrobe). This time is for shirts.
1. Cuban Shirt (Chacabana): Wether you live in the Caribbean or not, this shirt is always a must have. Don't make it too white cause you are not attending to funerals. You can buy or get a custom made one, with a modern touch, but this doesn't mean those ridiculous stripes.
2. Contrast-collar shirt: what? the white collar and the, maybe blue shirt. This one has a very elegant touch when you wear it with a navy suit (if the rest is blue I mean).
3. White blue squared shirt: for saturdays mornings or afternoons, definitely, this is my favourite selection. This shirt will never make you look wrong. Just grab a pair of jeans, a driving mocs, and this shirt will do the rest, you will stand out from the rest.
4. Black striped shirt: Personally these are one of my favourites shirts, especially for friday (or saturday) nights, and matches great with a pair of jeans. Wear it for going to fancy restaurants with friends or your couple or even clubbing.
5. Bengal Stripped: Thinking bold, won't make you look ridiculous. I prefer wearing these shirts on Fridays, especially for the office (a blazer will do). It gives you an executive-casual look, yet professional and tasty.
6. Tuxedo Shirt: never never consider in buying one. Just buy it! Invest on a very classy and elegant shirt, even you have to pay US$250 for a good one. You'll always need one for formal events or balls and you will stand out from the rest. And it should last long, cause it is not an every weekend use.
7. The french shirt: whether is the collar or the cuffs (or both) you must take this into account: if it is a french collar, make sure your neck and your body type can match with it. The cuffs are, in most of the time, very classy that can be matched with a suit (bussiness or formal).
8. The White shirt: For me this is the most versatile shirt. You can wear it with dark or clear suits. With or without tie, with a very good pair of blue jeans, with chinos, with short pants. Just be sure for which activity you are buying this shirt. (Most of the time, fits very good the next morning on that girl you just met.)
9. Egyptian Cotton: I prefer this fabric over linen. It's softer and fresher. Using this shirt will make you look more elegant and mature.
10. Slim Fit: Be honest with yourself. If you are a thin, athletic, short or semi muscle guy, this shirt will make you look cleaner. Fat guys must be careful, this shirt can make you look you are drowning.
Remember that at the end, the most important thing is to look elegant, classy and never extravagant, so avoid those overwhelming adorned shirts. The colors you like, you are free to choose them but certainly, there are some shirts MUST-HAVE in your wardrobe.
